Ground Source Heat Pump for Heating and Cooling
Heat pumps operate at the rate of $0.063/KWH. Heat pumps are efficient and provide not only heat, but cooling also; heating and air conditioning must be controlled. The member is responsible for conversion and control costs while BENCO is responsible for the controller. All $400/ton rebates must be controlled; a $200/ton rebate is available if not controlled.
Air Source Heat Pump for Heating and Cooling
Heat pumps operate at the rate of $0.063/KWH. Heat pumps are efficient and not only provide heat, but cooling also; heating and air conditioning must be controlled. The member is responsible for conversion and control costs while BENCO is responsible for the controller. All rebated heat pumps must be installed by a registered contractor and must be controlled. Rebates available: 14.5 SEER and higher are eligible for up to $900; ECM Motors are eligible for up to $100.
* UPDATE 1/9/14 - Heat pumps for swimming pools are now available: pumps sized 14.5 SEER are eligible for up to $400.
Power Cost Adjustment
The Power Cost Adjustment is applied to all load management rates.
Electric Dual Fuel
Electric Dual Fuel Is the use of electricity for space heating except during peak periods. An alternate source of heat is used at peak times. The Dual Fuel cost is $0.063/KWH. The member is responsible for paying for all conversions and BENCO is responsible for the controller.
Interruptible Water Heating
Interruptible Water Heating allows BENCO to control your Marathon water heater during peak periods. There are several ways to take part in this program. BENCO will provide controllers and pay for installation of the controller except when the member is already on or will be on a reduced rate.
Storage Water Heating
Needs at the minimum a 100 gal electric water heater that is supplied energy from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. The cost for Storage Water Heating is $0.049/KWH. Members are responsbile for paying the conversion and installation costs while BENCO will pay for the controller.
Storage Space Heating
Storage Space Heating is the use of "OFF PEAK" electricity. Off Peak is stored between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am and released throughout the day. The cost is $0.049/KWH. Members are responsible for conversion and control installation costs while BENCO is responsible for the controller.
