WATER HEATERS
BENCO Electric Cooperative offers 50-, 85- and 100-gallon Rheem Marathon electric water heaters to members of the cooperative for $450, tax included.*
These water heaters are used in conjunction with BENCO’s load management program and allows BENCO to control, or turn the water heater off, during peak times. By controlling the water heater during peak times, BENCO is able to purchase energy when it is sold at a more affordable rate. Please note the water heater could be turned off for up to eight hours.
Members are required to have a load control installed on the water heater following the purchase and installation of the water heater. Water heaters purchased from BENCO agree to allow BENCO to control the water heater for the life of the unit.

After receiving the water heater, it must be installed by a certified plumber. Please note BENCO will not warranty water heater or elements damaged due to improper installation. A licensed electrician must then wire the water heater.

terms & conditions
To purchase a water heater, you must have an account with BENCO.
The water heater must be installed at the address listed on your BENCO account.
The member is responsible for installing the water heater in their home.
After installation is complete, please contact BENCO within 60 days to schedule an appointment to add the load control.
Access to the home must be granted during business hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
BENCO retains ability to control the water heater for the life of the unit, even in the instance of change in ownership of the property.
BENCO will not warranty water heater or elements damaged due to improper installation.
